Having identified the need, it is now up to us to implement a real world practical solution that serves all parties.

I think the idea of some kind of camp where we detain people seeking asylum in the UK immediately brings to mind horrific images of detention camps that essentially serve as prisons for incoming migrants.

That is NOT what is being proposed here at all.

I think it's important that we initially address the needs and later on consider the wants.

Because Immigration concerns wide demographics, conditions and cultural backgrounds this is a very light guidance document which discusses an overview of the requirements.

A comprehensive solution will require input from multiple professional disciplines and agencies.

Integration Centres

Version 1.0 (2026/05/09)

Accommodation
The first thing that needs to be done is to assess the number and types of migrants in each area. We'll need an overall total so we can calculate a cost per head and we'll need to identify the number of family units, singles and partnerships to work out what kind of shelter we need to provide then we need to add a percentage to each group as an overhead.

People with long term health issues (like diabetes) and families with babies should take priority.

This project is complicated and has many variables.

It will require cooperation between multiple agencies and service providers.

It would probably be recommended to run a pilot programme to iron out the kinks before copying the project template to other areas.

There are some issues which are made much easier by the provision of modern technology. Translation apps that convert speech to English and back again will help to bridge the language gap between staff and potential citizens for example.

Shelter
A simple living space with bedrooms and a toilet.

No food preparation area because by law there needs to be 2 doors between the toilet and the kitchen.

Each unit will need basic services like electricity, running water and central heating.

Food
Food will be served in a shared canteen area and at allotted times during the day with a view to providing breakfast, lunch and dinner options.

Muslims pray 5 times per day so we'll need advice on the best times to do this so it doesn't overlap with any religious practice.

Because we're dealing with people who hail from many cultures, there will be a requirement for vegan, vegetarian and meat eating options.

There are religious considerations here, meat that is Halal for Muslims, vegan food for Hindus etc.

Health care
If you know anything about health care you'll realise it's the most complicated service to provide as people can present with a multitude of issues.

The project probably requires a small GP surgery on site with at minimum a GP, 2 nurses and a receptionist.

An on-site pharmacy is probably not recommended as it would be a tempting place to rob. A local pharmacy that delivers medical supplies would be more preferable.

Assessment
The purpose of the entire facility is to assess and educate potential citizens before they enter into the naturalisation process.

This job will have to be shared between the Police service and other on-site staff.

The Police service will be required to assess if any asylum seekers are criminals or fleeing from charges or prosecution in their country of origin.

The other on-site staff will be responsible for helping to identify good candidates and also potential trouble makers.

An initial assessment will identify who already speaks English, who knows about our culture and who already has the skill set to move to the next stage.

Education
Classes will be run daily covering the essential skills a person is expected to have in order to enter our country.

These will include: Language, Culture, Law and Social responsibility

A competent teaching institution will be able to provide assistance on how best to deliver this.

Tests will be run periodically to identify those people who are ready to move to the next phase. Bi-monthly would probably be sensible.

Over time it will be possible to work out exactly how much time it takes for someone to progress from knowing nothing to being ready for integration.

Policing
It might be advantageous to deploy certain factions of the army to police and offer security to each location as they can stay on-site and offer 24 hour coverage.

It would also leave our Police service free so they can continue providing their services to our own citizens.

A curfew is recommended, not for some draconian reason but so that crime does not need policing after a certain time every night which will save money.

Conclusion
As you can see, it's a complicated issue that will benefit from the experience gained by staff over time but if we want to control the problem and make the situation safe for our citizens we will deal with that complexity.

Done correctly, this project could save the UK tax payer a lot of money and provide better security and so take some of the burden that our Police service currently has to bear so they can focus on delivering security to our core citizens.
